Ribsfest 2012

Wow, have we got a great week going on here in the Smokies! If you're coming in today, you're in great luck! The Ribsfest, Wings and BBQ, one of Gatlinburg's best loved annual events, is going on today from 5PM to 9PM. Visitors with Highlands won't have to go too far to enjoy it as the city of Gatlinburg has to shut down an entire THIRD of the main downtown area to accommodate all the visitors, vendors, entertainers and more.

And then we're already in the middle of the 62nd Annual Wildflower Pilgrimage too! This is the keystone event of Springfest and it's offering over 150 programs for Smoky Mountain enthusiasts like Guided Hikes, Guest Lectures, Demonstrations and much more! My husband and I stayed in room 403 this summer. It was wonderful!! The room was nicely decorated, the jacuzzi tub was fabulous, and the view was breathtaking! You are never bothered by anyone while you stay there - it is much nicer than a hotel. Another great thing about the Highlands is that it is up the mountain but it's not too steep or too long of a drive to get there. We will always stay at the Highlands - NO MORE hotels on the strip in Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg. The prices are great too!!!

We stayed in the 3-bedroom unit #307 for a week in mid-June 2009 and had a blast! The location couldn't be more convenient, right off the bypass. The view is unbelievable. The staff was friendly and the condo was comfortable. [...] We would definitely stay at Highlands again. The reasonable price, convenience, comfort and awesome view make it hard to pass up!!!!!!

My husband and I have been to the Smokies several times a year since the 80's. In the last ten years we have stayed only at The Highlands. Though is is not an over-the-top elaborate resort, it has everything we need: Comfort, cleanliness, location and the absolute best view anywhere in the mountains. You can watch the Ober Gatlinburg tram go by, and enjoy the sunrise and sunset. We have stayed at fancier places, but we have never enjoyed ourselves any more than here!

We just wanted to send you a note on what a wonderful time we in Gatlinburg and the comfortable, homey accomodations we had at the Highlands. We have already said we will be coming back and will stay at the Highlands again. When we decided to stay an extra day, Cindy was very accomodating and was able to make arrangements for us, even though we had to move to a different room. Everything was taken care of for us while we were out that day. Thanks again for making our stay there a special part of our trip.
